Bally Alpha s9000 20" monitor question
« on: December 02, 2015, 02:07:00 PM »
Hi all, on my s9000 Hee Haw machine the 20" monitor has some white-ish circular rings coming from the bottom right corner, very noticeable when it's powered off but not too noticeable when its on except for a little darkness in the right corner. What is this, and is there anything that I can do to remove it?

I'm not too sure what it is so I don't know if It's just dust that can be cleaned out or if it's a burn or arc or something.

It's not really affecting anything but I just want to remove it.

I have to figure out how to post pictures on this forum, it would be easier to see than describing it...

Jeff

It's probably tobacco smoke behind the glass. It can be removed by removing the touch screen glass.
If it ain't broke don't mess with it.....

Thank you for your response.
BTW, I believe you are the guy selling the Grease software. I may be buying it very soon to have for my Alpha 2 conversion project.

If you are going to remove the touchscreen glass, be VERY careful.  If the smoke residue doesn't bother you, I would just leave it be.  I have cleaned around 10 monitors myself, but I killed a touchscreen in the process.
