IGT s or s+ slant top with Idle door open error

I have a IGT slant top slot. I believe it is a S or S+. It has been working great for several years. I hit a small jackpot on it and it started to pay out and the stopped and would not go past 15 credits owed. After trouble shooting it I found that a plastic coin had fallen into the coin hopper. I had to pull out the whole hopper to get it cleared.
I put everything back together and when I went to close the top door it didn’t close all the way(sometimes it hangs up on one corner. I pushed on it and it closed. The bottom light on the candle now flashes. I believe this means Idle door open. I have checked and rechecked all the doors.
Awhile back out of frustration I used the reset chip to reset the machine. It worked. I played the credits and eventually ran out and it went back to the bottom light on the candle flashing. The coins just fall through the coin slot.

Hi HT, Welcome to NLG. I'm not an authority on Slant Tops but on upright S+ machines when the bottom candle light is flashing it means the door has been opened. The light will not go off until a paid credit has been played.  Also if the optics aren't lining up the door error will be on and coins will drop through. I've heard that slant top doors are terrible to get closed. It may just be a door not getting shut all the way.

Their is a cover over the latch that releases the bottom door that needs to slide over before u close the door

Thanks guys, I got it working. I pulled the coin comparator(reset the sample coin) and hopper out. I also opened and reset the belly door and the slant top door. Wala, it worked!


Next I will give you guys an easy one I will start a post to get my Bill Validator working.
