Machine Shocking!

Anyone have a issue were the get a slight tingle shock from there machine? its happening a couple of the machines I have going to the same outlet....not sure if its a machine issue are a house electrical issue.

If it's multiple machines,  it could be that your house wiring is incorrect.  You can buy or borrow a small outlet tester. The tester below is less than $12 Canadian.


As for the machine, check the power cord to make sure that it's not damaged.  Most use a computer style cord, so they're easily changed.

Someone on here had the same problem last week. He found out that the outlet he had it plugged into was not grounded. Might be your problem.

Are you sure it's the machine that's shocking you or is it the other way around? I can sometimes walk across my carpet and feel a shock when I touch my machine. It's because the machine is grounded and I'm charged.

I used to do that all the time... I would shuffle my feat on my parents carpet then grab my brother by his ear ring.

How technology has changed us.... Now if I want to surprise him I use a tazer. (Yes kidding).

I stuck a 9 volt battery on my brother's dental braces...you know....to see what would happen?...haha

He said it was like his whole mouth was on fire with battery acid. 

Believe me....we never did that again.

You mean a continuous tingly shock, and not static - correct? I had the same issue. It was indeed a grounding issue in the house. The wiring in my slot room was not grounded, while bathrooms, kitchen, garage were. I ran a copper wire from a ground point outside into my room and routed it to two outlets. Your situation may be different but I'd start there. Get a tester like Wayne said.
