MK6 Call Attendant Coin Optic Fault
« on: April 25, 2024, 12:37:36 AM »
Hi Guys
Ive posted previously while ive been trying to fix my QLD converted to NSW pokie i purchased
Mostly had a door mismatch error but ive slowly worked thru that and resolved it
Moving forward i have a optic coin fault message now after moving thru the mismatch error
so.... i purchased a working 2nd hand coin validator and swapped it over - same issue
I then purchased another working MK6 main board and got given driver and comms boards
All booted up fine after clearing ram and setting game options up but then i get exactly the same
message call attendant optic coin fault
I tried checking all the connections but its the last thing stopping the game from playing
If you reset the fault it clears for a split second and says insert coins but then goes back to the fault
I feel im getting so close but now stuck on this error
I Want to say thanks to everyone todate that has helped me in the last couple months to help and communicate with me
Appreciate it but if anyone has some tips for me to resolve this error please let me

Thats great news, I only logged in now, I couldn't PM you a few weeks back because your message box was full (like mine was before!) - shame they only allow a few messages.

But anyway, the final option was to just buy or borrow some spare boards, as you have done. There might of been something funny with the driver board that was upsetting the door optics and coin mech.. etc then I was going to suggest setup the machine without coin mech and just use the note acceptor if that works. Did you swap back and test that again, if it was just a loose plug all along that's good because you have a spare driver board.

Glad you got it working. These things sometimes chuck you in the deep end, but you end up knowing the machine more and at least you have some spare boards which are getting harder to come by.

HI Pokie 3
sorry i wasnt aware of the inbox was full i might have to clear those
Thank you very much for your help
I really dont know exactly how i fixed it all it was just going over stuff and trying other stuff and yes i did get another board but that wasnt the issue
the opto fault fixed itself when i went back to the original optos and set it up on a board
the coin validator issue was either the loom connection or the driver board swap i think either way it finally worked
ive got 3 different games also and got the game to suit the decal as well
Next thing id like to know if possible is to upgrade the note mech or get one to suit MK6
