I believe Frank from Casino Glass deals in strips as well as glass.
I have been happy with all the glass I bought from him over the years.
He is not inexpensive but he does come through.

Unless your a casino IGT will not sell you parts.
They do not sell to Casino supply companies. It's a direct to customer model.
Prices from IGT are probably in the $200/strip range and more if they are backlit.

They price like this to encourage casinos to purchase newachines and move towards licesened themes.

Ie - IGT will give the casino "The Hang Over" for free but want 1.7% of the drop into that machine.
When they do this they take the other theme with them.

It's only when the machine gets retired that the parts end up on market.

This licensing model and server based gaming is the scourge of the home market as it has the ability to curtail our hobby.

In reality IGT and the others want to curtail these machines showing up in the foreign markets.
This gives them the stick to start generating revenue from markets where none existed before.

Yes, who is the vendor. I can say, all my deals with the listed vendors have been good, with exception of one. I am thinking it is this one. Sent two supposedly shopped nice machines with minty reel strips. Needless to say, I spent a weekend fully shopping them, and was buying new reel strips. Shopped, my ass. In fact, they had to be keyed and set up for proper printer operation, they did not even bother with that!

Come on, confirm it's the same place :-)

Mike, I have dealt with them some in the past with no issues-but just on parts etc. I am sure they will/would do well on your purchase. I was also surprised you revealed who this was, I knew from deduction but was not instigating this. I think you handled this quite well and was very diplomatic about it. When working with used slot equipment questions and pics etc. Do need to be asked. I always enjoy the ones that pick up personally as they are always pleased and know nothing was mis-represented. That however on the most part is not possible on may purchases. Just a thought -No bashing here.

Mike, on the positive note with your top glass, who was the vendor that helped you track it down? Always good to point out the super stars so that others can benefit from those that do business the right way.

Jay up above gave me the hint to to try Casino Glass for the top glass and strips. Frank did not have any strips but he does have the top glass. After 20 questions on my part Frank assured me the glass would not have any issues. He indicated that if there was a chip on the edge that would be hidden then that did not make it a bad piece of glass in his book, cracked glass or scratched/cracked artwork was a no no and he would not sell it. So once again with great help from people on this site I found yet another good contact, he encouraged me to call him back regularly to see if they had any of those reel strips in. So got to meet another very nice helpful person.

I'm going to keep looking for the strips and if I find some I will pass that info along to RMS and see if they wish to purchase those on my behalf and make this whole thing right.

What about looking into custom made strips? I recalled seeing some chatter in the past on here about them. Unfortuanetly I dont know much about them or cost but i guess that could always be an option.

It sucks to read stories like this, im sure RMS will work it out with you.

I got screwed last year by a vendor on the old site, they never transitioned over to this new site. Dont you love those folks who come on here, as everyones pal and pitching their new buisness, then fade away

I believe the Slot Mag is done. Just kinda shitty of "angryninja" to not even bother (or have the respect) to come on and let everyone know.

And on the same topic, where is Southern Slots (or whatever his original name was)

Not sure what happened to the Slot Magazine thing. I purchased a 12 month subscription and I think we got 5-6 magazines out of it, was afraid he might run out of good topics etc... Hope nothing bad happened to him, I know he was doing those custom kits, hopefully he didn't end up on the wrong end of a lawsuit.

I checked the southerslots website the other day, its still there but can't tell if its been updated recently. Again, one of those things that probably looks like a great idea on the surface but just not enough manpower to make it work. I know I met Dave over in MS one day and he actually just gave me a CRT monitor, very nice of him. Hate to see folks like him having issues because he was providing some really good stuff at reasonable prices, just a bit slow on the shipping sometimes.

I had the 12 mont subscription also and receive 4 out of 12. It is a shitty thing, since all who subscribed dis so out of interest and to support fellow members. Whats really shitty is that itunes wont pull the app so people can still sign on a subscribe.

As far as southernslots, thats who i had my experience with. I had a couple good dealings and then my last and most expensive one did not go so well. I had all the promises in the world to correct it and guess what. Nothing

the only 2 people that i know of that were printing custom kits were angry ninja and me but i havent seen anything from angry ninja in a wile and my equipment went down and can no longer make kits.

i will add that it is getting harder to turn a profit in this industry. a lot of new people showing up cutting prices, and the fact that a lot of people just cant afford the kind of investment a slot machine can take.

I was rummaging through the reel strip box, and saw that I had totally forgot about the brand new DDD With Cheese reel strips I have. the only bad, they are NOT backlit. But new, and look fantastic.

Yours for 75.00 including shipping by UPS in a frosting container to keep them safe. Simply return for refund, minus shipping, if you do not like them.

That title was only made for the S2000 platform and strips were backlit .

I also have a set just like these in my Quackshot. Also non backlit. Maybe these are reproductions, that is what I would guess. But very nice, and very glossy. Just wish they were backlit!

I had a set for a diff machine made for me a few years back by one of the big companies that makes them, I believe they have been mentioned in this thread and although they are backlit strips they are a off white/gray on the back. The colors are good and the strips look good in the machine but they certainly did not look like the strips that came out of the machine (for a number of reasons). You know, I just don't see why they are making it so hard and restrictive on us the home users that just want a nice looking machine in their home. They are not going to sell us one so what does it hurt if either they sell us a set of strips or someone makes them, we are not impacting their bottom line in any way. Now I do realize that sometimes the onesy twosy stuff could get old for such a large company but in my mind a sell is a sell. I guess they are afraid of the larger companies that are fixing up the old machines and selling them to a overseas market that competes with their new sales.

Oh well, I guess this hunt we all go thru is part of the fun.
