S+ Double Red, White & Blue Chips

Just got a  Double Red, White & Blue  3coin. The displays were not working and I found a clear chip with broken legs. I checked the board and found sp731 and ss4713 in the wrong places. Neither chip would work. I did a clear and replaced with sp1048 and had a spare ss4713. Machine is now working. Is the sp1048 OK? Played for around 30 minutes and only hit small pays so not sure if it is all good.

The SP1048 is perfectly fine for your Type 0 game.

SS4713 pays back a crummy 87.55% -- you may wish to consider upgrading your SS chip to one that has a higher payback.  Be aware, however, even if you do that you won't see a drastic increase in winning spins, but over the long term a chip with a higher payback percentage will pay slightly more often.

You can see a list of the chips made for your game by looking at this page in the S+ bible.
