Bally Electromechanical / Re: bally 1090-106

I believe there are 3 coils mounted on the drop down light board or the back of the cabinet.
Hopefully the labels are still attached.
If I remember correctly, one of the coils will impulse for every coin.
Causing the odds unit to advance.
These coils/switches can be manually operated for testing.

Also, check the actual step up unit that might be labeled odds unit.
Look for burnt coils, broken or detached wires, contacts out of adjustment, and missing springs.
This unit can also be manually operated. Check for smooth operation and a swift return.

Welcome!!

It's a Bally EM. Go to www.slotmachinerepair.com and click on Helpful PDF's and download the free Bally EM #2400 service manual.
Many techs here work on the EM series so post your questions here and someone will respond.

Like Tilt said - NO settings can cause a low battery.  Replace MPU or send it to Lookes to be repaired.

Tube type radios, dobro, golf, astronomy and... BRANDY???     :love_whiskey:
You're in the right forum!
Can you post a close up shot of the reel assembly? This might be an Bally E series machine but I can't tell until I see the reel reader boards in-between  the reels. Or it's just a Bally EM.  Corrected!!
You're missing the hopper... not too hard to find. Hopefully a real tech will reply here soon... perhaps member Badbaud, Wolftalk, or maybe Chris-socal.
Give 'em a little time. This is an all volunteer forum.
Again, welcome to NLG.

Would it all be possible that somewhere in the settings which by the way is comes up after I do the reset maybe hold the answer to this low battery issue.

Or is the only answer in the main board?

Remove the 2. batteries and try a clear without the batteries to see if the error goes away.  If it does, after the clear put the batteries back and do the clear again before you try to boot with os and game.

The schematic,  what is the issue with that? Remember your BV worked till you received a different MPU? Maybe the dipswitch settings are not set properly to enable the BV.

Well, I don't know anything about the dip switches, I thought Alan would have set it up before I received it.

The wiring was screwed up,  it was cut and spliced before I acquired it, I have been trying to straighten it out, lengthen the wires, by using the same color wires.

The options verification message is normal after the machine has gone through a RAM error reset process.  It's letting you know to check all the machine settings to make sure they are correct before putting it back in service.

I don't know your level of experience working on electronics.  If you can read schematics and have the right equipment to solder/desolder surface mount components then you may be able to fix it yourself.  If not, I recommend sending it off to Lookes or someone who does to have it repaired.

Hi all
Had a tiki torch that a friend on here was helping me do a clear and set because the bill validation was not working
We did the clear and set .. but upon loading one of the times, the game came up but the reels were blank.. we never got to finish the set up.. I'm not sure if the problemnis from the clear/set, or unrelated.. any ideas?
Thanks
Al
