Handle removal, Bally EM

Okay, I have the handle mechanism loose from the cabinet and the 5/16 x 4.5 bolt backed off.
Need to know what is keeping the handle from separating from the mechanism.
Obviously I've missed something and or didn't want to apply a lot of pressure to the handle hub.
Before checking with the experts on the NLG site.

once you take the bolt out the handle pulls up sometimes you have to wiggle the hell out of it to get it to come out if you can't get it Dave give me a call

Twist it and pull up.  You might want to dribble some oil to let it drip down and set a bit.
You can bang on the hub and handle to help knock it loose.
As a last resort, channel locks on the shaft and turn it back and forth while pulling up.

Yea if you have the long bolt out, then the handle is just held in by rust old hard grease and dirt. I've tapped on the handle with a brass hammer while removing the handle.

Thanks guys, the Handlectomy was successful. A few good whacks at the base and a little twisting and it came out like a loose tooth.
