Ok, I'm going to have to find a set of keys to buy on eBay. I took a couple of extra pictures for you guys to analyze and decipher haha. The first is the normal start up screen. The second is the operating system and game that are original to the game. The third is the screen that the machine freezes on when the Ram clear card is loaded in place of the OS card.

Sizzler is right. Your M9000 internally looks like my M9000. It's the older/first gen models of the M9000

What we need to see is what BIOS is in your MPU. Demo or trade show machines have a special DEMO Bios (which I have but could never get it to work). Which is why you might not be able to perform a RAM CLEAR. OR you have a bad card.

Not yet. I'm going to have to get a key. Unfortunately the only site I can find the key I need says it is out of stock. That is if the key is the common bally barrel key. I guess until I get the key I am at a stand still. Sad day.

Hi (again)
I just checked Rudy's site and it looks like he is "out of stock"  (Should have checked before opening my mouth - Open mouth, insert foot !)  Anyway, I will see him Saturday at the Pottstown Get Together for all East Coast members and check with him.

That clear card error message is either a bad clear card or the wrong version.  Which clear card did you get?  if you indeed have 317 OS, then you need a clear 312.

The clear card I have is 312-04. I really hope the seller did not dupe me. This was the only 312 I could find.

So I got impatient and used the pry method and I was able to get the mpu out. I took some pictures, modified the locks and put it back in. I turned the machine back on and thank my lucky stars it works fine as it did before. Now hopefully you guys can tell me what I need to do next by looking at these pictures.

Glad you got it back going.  Looks like bingo class -2 II to me.  I could be wrong.  Explains why your clear etc. did not work-?. At least we were able to help some-see-It's going again.  That is a 512 box so if you want to upgrade and change things you would need a diff. bios. chip, proper clear for it and proper os at that point. You can shove a 1-gig box in there as well but on just a M-9-?   ***As a note the wires you have in your hand don't go to anything, All those boxes  have those spares in them- Just really a computer --with finky demands to work. ***

So looking in it now. Is there any different reason why the machine loads with the error when I try and run it with the Ram Clear?

Barry, two things...

1) It is very possible that is a trade show bios? I have one bios that says demo, or something like that. I will have to find it. Also, if its a class 2 bios, how is he able to boot the Acme Jackpots? Just wondering what secrets you may know ;)

2) A 1gig box, in an M9000 with 2gb of memory and video card, works wonders on my setup  :cool_thumb_up:

To fix your issue tho, I would replace the bios in your machine with a common 512 bios or find out if your ram clear card is corrupt, like Rick said.. You can hit up a vendor or search ebay. If you like the newer, almost Alpha 2 games, then invest in a 1gig board. Worth it, even on an M9000.

1) How would I find out if my ram clear card is corrupt?

2) I have searched both eBay and a general google query but have been unable to locate a seller that would have a different Bios chip. Is there a specs sheet that lists what OS to get with what bios?

3) I feel like I'm going to be an alpha tech after all of this is said and done with your guys' help! I appreciate it very much.

I am thinking its corrupted. Where did you find this clear card?

When you boot up the system and game, can you verify that your BIOS matches the label in the MPU? The label on that bios doesn't look original. They may have put the wrong part number on it.

Boot up your game, turn the key or press the button on the MPU .... Go to DIAGNOSTICS > VERSION INFORMATION.

Lets make sure that your BIOS that is actually in the machine, matches that lable. Take a pic of your screen and post it.

You definitely have a special BIOS chip. It HAS to be a demo/trade show version and you probably need a special ram clear. No one will probably have that.

Your BIOS has "DIAG" in the part number which makes me guess its for DIAGNOSTIC testing, ect.

The correct one is AVBBPRO0R807‐00, which uses AVOCLEAR0312‐04, and uses OS 317
Here is a seller that sells BIOS. Make sure you let him know which one you want. Since you already have the RAM CLEAR and OS, you should just be fine to get AVBBPRO0R807‐00
