Bally V1000 video reel slot four card stack question
« on: September 03, 2015, 08:28:51 PM »
I have a working V1090 video reel slot that has an encoder switch connected to the pull handle. It has a belt and pulley system. The pulley on the encoder is loose . Need to know what the encoder does  and how to adjust it.  The machine plays fine with the pulley being loose. Maybe I'm missing some  feature and do not know it being the pulley is loose?

The belt is a feature which is pretty cool when it works. As you pull the handle, the belt rotates slightly and tells the "reels" to move upward a little bit, as if you were really pulling the handle as in an e/m machine. So.. the reels appear to move up and you can then see a bit of the symbols which were not visible prior to the start of the current reel pull. Then when the reels spin, the game plays normally. If the belt is loose, or the encoder is broken, the reels will just spin as normal. If you coin up the game and move the belt by hand up and down, you will see the reels move accordingly; as long as the encoder (or whatever it's officially called) is working.

Thanks for the fast reply Jerry! I will tighten the set screw on the pulley tomorrow and see if the switch still works. I thought I maybe waiting a long time for a reply or none at all for this old 4 card stack version. Thanks a Million! Tim
