Problem with Bally S6000 taking $10 bills

I am having a problem with my Bally S6000 slot with a WBA bill acceptor only taking 1 or 2 $10 bills out of 13 that I tried to put into it. I have cleaned the optics and it's no better. It takes $1, $5 and $20 bills with no problems. What can I do to make the $10's work better?? The bills mentioned, are all the latest bills in circulation.
Any thoughts? ?

Any chance the $10 bills that it accepted were older design ones and it isn't accepting the latest design $10? Compare the bills it accepts to the bills it won't accept and see if they are of a different series.

Depends on which version of WBA you have, with a WBA12, 13, 14 or 15 the latest version of the software is
V3.93-42I (letter i) and it will accept $10 bills dated 2004 but released in 2006

then enter the information for your WBA, device, if you are lucky to have a WBA 13 or 15 you can
probably read the label on the PROM, if you have a WBA12 or 14 then your validator has to be flashed
to the latest software

The tag on my bill acceptor reads.... WBA-13 Bally ID-003 V3.80.
Out of  9 Series 2009 $10 bills..........Only 2 were accepted
Out of  5 Series 2013 $10 bills..........Only 3 were accepted
I have put them in face up.
Any other thoughts as to why not more $10 bills will be accepted?

From the info on the JCM website it looks like there is one newer software release called ID-003 ver 3.83, released in Oct 2013, for your WBA-13 after the software version 3.80 you currently have. But the reason for the release didn't affect acceptance of $10 bills so updating the software probably wouldn't help. The last software improvement to $10 acceptance happened at ver 3.75, so your ver 3.80 already has that improvement. (I didn't see a ver 3.93 that dhellis saw, maybe I missed it or his comment has a typo?)

Your WBA-13 has 4-way acceptance, you can insert a bill face-up or face-down, either end inserted first. If your WBA accepts all $20 and other bills ok, maybe it is just a quirk about the $10. From what I've seen most people play by using $20 or $100 bills and either $1 or $5 for something smaller, so not being able to use a $10 isn't a big problem.
