Help needed!

Not sure what happened to the text I posted! I'll try again.
I recently got a non working IGT S Plus I think slot machine, The person I got it from got it non working as well but he said he did  manage to get it going for a short period of time. When you turn the machine on, the bill changer makes noise and the machine lights up as it should with the exception of the displays just above the buttons on the front panel. They are all non lit.


The previous owner replaced the battery on the mother board and used  clearing chips on the mother board.  That's all the info I have. There is supposed to be a white test button somewhere in the machine by the on off switch but I can't find it. If there is one, please tell me where it is.


Any help on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

The test button is probably on the back of the on/off switch box.

Sounds like you are not getting power to the motherboard on the bottom of the machine(what the mpu with the battery plugs into).  Check the cable going from power supply to the motherboard.  Try wiggling it around and see if any display lights come on.  If you unplug it from motherboard and look at backside of molex you may see it is burnt and needs cleaned up or replaced.

Here's a couple of pics. Usually the connector will have burnt spot on one of the ground wires. It's a common issue. By the way, the battery is on the processor board or MPU not the mother board.

Thank you! You hit the nail right on the head. Definitely need to fix the molex connector but now have to figure out the 61 error.


I'm one step closer to getting this thing working.

Got the 61 cleared  the machine works! Now I have to get the bill validator to work.

Do you have a set15 chip to activate and set denom to the BV?
