61 loop problem fixed
« on: October 21, 2021, 08:55:50 AM »
ok 1st of all i would like to give a big shout  out to pete ( aka brokern ticker ) so to everyone that has ever beat there head up against the wall on a 61 loop that you could not ram clear and the white reset button would not bring it off  of 61, so  here is  what i did  and than pete  really fixed the problem , so had a splus with 61 loop, did everything i could think of , ram cleared, , came up with 61 white reset button did nothing on the 61 but did work in ram clear mode  so i knew my white button next to the power switch was good, so on to the next step , replaced  cpu with known good working cpu , same problem ,, so on to the next checked all the wires  from reset to cpu cage , everything good  check all wires to mother board all good there also, so replaced the mother board  same issue  61 lock , so got talking to pete and he said to unplug the door optics , and bam it worked , so than i plug back in the optics  and right back into 61 lock , so i unplugged the optics on the cabinet side  and bam it works  so it all came down to a bad optics on the cabinet side ,  replaced the optics on the cabinet side  and all is good , it was  thinking the  door was closed  that is  why it was locked in the 61 code ,thought this would save a bunch of time for someone , just dont grap a set of bad optics  like i did the 1st time , they are now in the trash  . thanks again pete  aka brokenticker ,

Very nice work. Troubleshooting is a knack to say the least. Congrats on getting your machine repaired and working.

The optics can be repaired, replacing the devices (the little can looking things - led and detector devices)

The more you know how the machines operate and what devices are used for, and why, the easier it is to troubleshoot. Just comes with experience. I like to say 'listen to the machine. It is trying to talk to you. Sometimes it is even screaming and telling you exactly what is wrong.  :fryingpan: :24: :rotfl: :banghead:

You can fix almost any electronic device by replacing the aluminum electrolytic capacitors.
