WMS BB1 DOA

Hi Everyone. My bb1 has been acting funny. Sometimes id have to turn it on and off a dozen tomes before it boots up, but it does. Now it wont even do that. It comes on for a second, all the red lights come on, then right back off. I also noticed the fan on my power supply doesnt move. It looks like it wants to, it nudges an eighth of an inch every few seconds.  Did my power supply go bad?

Yep...get a replacement power supply.
Try placing a WTB ad in the Classifieds section of NLG?
Maybe a member vendor will spot it, and have one for sale for you.

Thanks for confirming. I THOUGHT that was going to be the case, just wanted a second opinion.  I already pulled it out. Thanks again! I'll head over to classifieds.

There is another power supply which supplies 24v.  If you look at the backplane where all the harnesses plug in, on the to right corner there is a set of LEDS that indicate the power rails for the cabinet.  They should all be green.  Make sure the 24v line is lit up, otherwise you may need the 24v power supply as well.

I'll check that tonight. I know there's red LEDs under the 2032 batteries, but that's on the board itself. I already pulled the power supply out, but can reconnect it in a minute just to check what your referring to. There's a bunch of wires back there, but I do remember seeing a green light somewhere past the wires. Thanks for that. I will check it out

Ok, I put the power supply back in, and reconnected the wiring.  Powered on, and one red LED under the batteries came on, and one green LED you referred to came on. After about a dozen tries of powering on and off, the machine started to boot up, and all the green and red LEDs came on. After about a minute, it stopped booting. Back to one light each. I did notice the fan on the power supply was not on while it was booting.

It might just be a fan on the power supply and it's overheating then triggering a  thermal shutdown.  The power supplies are not that expensive and it is always good to have a spare.  You may be able to save the older one by just replacing the fan.
