gen 2 printer problems

So my original gen 2 universal printer was tilting causing problems with my TITO I ordered another used one. It came with firmware netplex GUN007411 TKT-2.3 and I flashed it with version USB GUU0010502 TKT-2.3.


The first couple prints were great and it was working fine. For some reason all of a sudden it now has a feed problem. When a ticket is fed in it started pulling it and gets stuck. It seems to briefly try to reverse the ticket, it never gets detached and then it stars spitting it out. It normally cycles through a bunch of TITOs until I turn it off. There is nothing blocking the feed. Any suggestions?

can you do a test print with the door open?  Usually that kind of behavior is because of something in the feed path.

No it can't even do a test ticket anymore. I can visually tell there is nothing in the feed. I feed the ticket in and it goes in like 3/4ths the way. Then it starts making screechy noises, backs it up a bit, then puts it in all the way in and stops there. If I leave it there it will then pull another ticket in and repeat the process again.

It's not a bird nest...Take it apart and find out what's broken....betcha you'll see something stripped or broken.

Clean the sensor lens with a soapy cloth with warm water then pressurized air can dry....sounds like the lens are cloudy and not seeing the printed TITO bars? Does that make any sense?

I can try cleaning it. I feel I did more harm then good when I tried to fix the last printer... nothing visually seems damaged.

Make sure the ticket paper is in the correct orientation, it will only take it one way. I know I have put it in backwards or upside down before.
