I have three Mills mechanical slots and was just given a Bally E-2212 project (it lights up but is not operational). I'm new to electronic slots and very much a novice with electronics in general, so please be gentle. : )
First step is replacing fuses. The machine was missing the black fuse caps in the #3 slot of the fuse block and the hopper fuse (see pics). On closer examination the metal clips inside these fuse holders were missing as well so in the process of replacing the holders.
As the pictures show, the #3 yellow wires are not connected to the fuse holder but instead tied together, bypassing the fuse box. The hopper fuse wires have a small black wire linking the two leads which I think also bypasses the fuse box.
My question, are these wiring short-cuts taken by a prior owner (and not "factory" wiring)? I am thinking the #3 fuse needs to be channeled through the fuse holder and the hopper fuse should have the small black wire removed so connection runs only through the fuse holder. Again, I am a novice so looking for confirmation if my thinking is correct or other guidance you can provide.
Thanks in advance for your help.
