Wms CPU-NXT blanks out

I've had this board in my 550 machine for some time. It has just started to blank out at random. I've tried a clear and different games. The monitor is ok and the power supply is at 5.0 volts DC at the board. any suggestions? I also reseated the ram and the fan is working.

Is this using a CRT monitor?  If so, you may have a cap issue causing "clipping" or possibly solder connection issues, both of which could/would likely present after warmup. It could be software related or plug related also, but these are a couple things to look at anyway

I have a LCD in it and as I posted its not the monitor.


It's random at which point it resets and as I said I monitored the 5 volts and it does not waver. I also made sure all the plugs were  in properly and I tried different software. I do not get any errors during boot up . Sometime it will boot completely and sometimes it will reset or go blank during boot up.

Do you have the separate aux power harness going to the NXT board? If so, it may be a PS going bad. Here is a link that may help.

Yes I do have the cable directly to the PCB. I will have to look at the power supply. Although the + 5 looks good maybe it's one of the other voltages.

It's your 12 volt rail.  Is our Monitor being powered by the main power supply or does it have it's own?

The LCD has it's own power supply.

Anytime I've had issues with the 550 conversions rebooting, it has always been the 12v power supply.  Replace the inner 5/12v power supply inside the pdu and see if the machine still reboots.  It specially happens for some reason, whenever you cash out.

Para el caso de quedar en blanco la pantalla al iniciar debes revisar algunas cosas:

- Descartar el monitor lcd, ya que estos molesta la board LVDS que interconecta board analogo digital con  panel (display) lcd, si ya hiciste esto sigue por cambiar la board de video (Gpu) una pequeña que tiene una memoria ram y el ventilador, el I.C que controla el video es de tipo superficie (Smd) y aveces se crean falsos contactos/fracturas en las esferas de soldadura y esto causa este problema.

Por miparte ya he reparado varias cambiando esta board y tambien reparandolas realizando el reballing a las mismas.
