code 43 on reels double diamond

I  keep getting a code 43 on my DD saw it was the reel error so I switched the second reel with the third and it switched to a error 42 so it is telling me there is a problem with the reel ??  This is a igt s slot I think it may be the optics can these be changed ? Are they the same as a S+ ? Thanks

I'd start by cleaning the optics, check reel strip seating and inspect the reel assembly to make sure nothing is hindering it's ability to spin.

another problem  is the pins inside the plug, sometimes the pin will move up in the socket. reseating the pin usually cures the problem.

They are the same, just as long as they come from the same type of machine, ie. upright / slant top. there is a stamp on the side of the reels to id the type, I believe it is "UP" for uprights & "ST" for slant tops.

Thanks for the info, got the machine running great, now moving on to a Bally e1000 ,I have no idea on these machines and was told they are a pain to work on and keep running? Thanks Again

E1000 are not bad. Usually the hopper board with the reset buttons. Don't know if Foxsslots sold all his stuff.

What ended up being the fix for the reel error?

I swapped out a complete reel with optics and it worked fine, Now I am working on a Ball e1000 and a e2000 both tilt out . the e2000 coins up and you pull the handle but reel 1 and 4 (4 reel machine) stop at the same time and tilts?
