Main Battery Low / Options Verification Required

I recently bought a spare 044 Board and just finished going through all the setup screens.  Everything went fine, and the game is displayed, except it is also displaying:


"Main Battery Low / Options Verification Required"


So obviously I need to buy a new battery.  What is the best source to buy a new battery for an 044 I-Game?


Also, am I unable to clear the "Options Verification Required" and play the game, or will it not let me use the game until the battery is replaced?

Batterie+lamps has the 2354 batteries

Options Verification Required is an informational message that appears after an initial setup has occurred.  It will clear after you replace the battery and close the machine door.

I have one other question...  I think the battery on my other MPU is getting low as well even though it hasn't told me so yet (sometimes when booting the machine it freezes on "zero checking flash", looking at older forum posts it appears it's due to a dying battery).


Does replacing the coin battery cause all settings to be lost?  I'm running a Game King on that board and if it means I have to completely re-do all my game settings I think I'll just wait until the battery dies completely.

Just Solder a couple wires on to a button battery and solder it in circuit around your MPU battery on your MPU board, this way you maintain battery power to your MPU while you change out the bad battery. This is critical on games like IGT Aristrocrat CDS games, even if the battery is dead you can sometimes save doing the set-up this way. After you install the new battery just remove the jumper battery. This can be a life saver, when in doubt just use a jumper batter and be safe.
