For Bally 873 owners - Wiring question
« on: May 31, 2016, 12:24:01 PM »
Hello,

I need help from owners of Bally 873, I think, for example of RiseLikeRa or Essmeier.

I would need the colors of the wires, or the number, like 71 for an orange/red wire, and if you could take pictures in HD it would be even better

Please note that the photos come from a Bally 929 hopper.

Step-up coil and the micro switch.

Payout relay

Override solenoid

Thank you very very very much !!!  :hail: :hail:

Heyyyy !!! Thank you Jim! That helps me a lot!  :thank_you:

Just to be certain, before the wire resistance is it a black / yellow wire or is it the resistance welded directly on the payout relay on the yellow wire ???

And concerning the step-up coil, can you see the color of the wire, have you got this coil on your hopper?

Step-up coil and the micro switch.

@RiseLikeRa : No problem, take care of your family or your friends, the machines can wait, they have all the time ...

As I told Jim, I need to know the color of the wire of the "step-up coil." I found the micro switch, there is a gray and white / blue.

Just took a look at my 873A, doesn't have coil in that location or a micro switch.  Checked 922F, same 5 line as 873 but with progressive counters.   Same.   Sorry.   Let me know if anything i can photo.

Hello Jim and Ra !

Thank you for your help in the repair of the hopper.

This coil is adjacent to the hopper. It is located behind the contact disc. Unscrew slightly the bottom screw and remove the top one. The payout unit will be able to pivot down and the coil will be available.

@Jim : Ok for the micro switch.

It is strange that you do not have that coil, because it is the one that activates the ratchet wheel, rotates the wiper assembly and counts the token. Maybe It is not exactly  placed  in the same place. Behind the contact disc there should be two coils: the reset coil and the step-up coil.

Could you send me a picture of the back of the counting disc so that  I will see the way it is wired ? If you do not mind.... I'm not in a hurry, it's been a so long time since I have worked on the restarting of this 873 machine ...

I see you have both a step up coil AND a mechanical step up arm...
What's up with that???
Only time I ever saw that was in a Double Up machine, a very old Bally which I never really understood how it worked.
I would be very suspect of that hopper.

hopper is correct its from a bingo continental and it has a mechanical action and a coil
the mechanical action is ordinary cash pay and the coil is for credit play it pulls in the register coil
its the bottom key switch that changes it over from credit to cash or cash to credit
