WMS 550 Reel Em In 5 line to 9 line

I have the original 5 line version of reel em in and wanted to change to the 9 line version. Do I have to do a complete ROM swap to achieve this??

I'm not expert on the WMS-550 but I think you are right, doing a change like that is a "game change" and you'll need to replace the game eproms.  Also your player pushbuttons may need changes. Someone familiar with your WMS machine will say for sure, so check back to see what they say.

If memory serves me correct, there is no 9 line version of reel 'em in for the legacy platform.  If there is a 9 line legacy version, I have never seen it.  There is a Reel 'em in classic game (same game but for CPUNXT platform AKA BB1) that is a 9 line version.  You would have to upgrade your 550 to cpunxt and obtain the Reel 'em in classic software.  BTW upgrading to CPUNXT is so worth it and it is a relatively easy upgrade.  Just need the CPUNXT board and the aux power harness plus software. CPUNXT games are so much better.

So both filthy rich and reel em In are 5 line games on legacy platform. I have 2 BB1 Nxt machines at home right now. So does anyone have the reel em in software for NXT platform and glass I can buy? I will just convert my 550 to top banana or boom.

Yeah, the earlier games were all 5 lines as people were not yet used to betting 90 coins per bet, the jump when from 5 to 9 to 15 to 20 on the legacy platform.
