OK.......I tried that just now (open door......turn key one time.....close door) and I get the same thing. Display says display checked.....testing memory.......service key light comes on for one second then goes out.......then it displays.....general wheel tilt and door open M. No wheels spin, and NO call attendant. I did continuity checks on the bi-pass wires yesterday, but now I am questioning everything. I used the wire through the door method.

I just ran continuity tests on all wires. Green wire from cabinet optic plug to cherry switch....ok Red from door optic plug to cherry switch....ok Green wire from door optic plug to purple wire on the door optic plug.....ok All show good continuity. On the cherry switch.....Green wire to position 1......red wire to position 3.

I should add.......door optics are not attached to the connectors.

Should I try re-cleaning the board under where the green battery was?

It wouldn't hurt to clean it again but it's not likely to change anything if you did a good job the first time. If you think the door optics or bypassed door optics circuit is working ok it might be time to start shopping for another mpu board.

Before buying a ~~mother~~ mpu board.........Does anyone know where the optics connect to the mother board or some other spot. I would like to check and make sure that the cherry switch is getting the door closed signal to the mother board.

Do you mean buy a motherboard, or a mpu board? Don't get the two confused. The mpu board is the large circuit board with the green varta battery.

That's what I figured but wanted to make sure, didn't want you to order the wrong thing. I'm not expert on S2000, so before you order a board might be good to get other opinions from people here about that being the next step to do.

Sorry for all the questions.......BUT......I do not know what wire or wires tells the machine that the door is closed. I see how the red door wire and the green cabinet wire connected to the cherry switch turns them (optics) on and off. (door open and door closed) The green door wire connected to the purple cabinet wire completes the circle. It is a complete circle........How does the machine (MPU board) know if the door is open or closed? I know of no wire connected to the MPU.......It is a complete circle, except for the power to the work light. All wires were cut....except for the green cabinet wire which is long enough to attach to the cherry switch.

I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer....so.....someone please explain this to me.

I think it would be good for you to get this door optics mod figured out on your machine. It may or may not be working, but would be for the best if you understand how it works in either case.

there is a way to check and see if the door optics circuit is working. get in the test mode, scroll down to the I/O tests, 4.1, enter the input tests, scroll to the processor input test, the first item should be light pen, scroll down to the main door test, there should be a 0 there when the door is open, when you push in or pull out the cherry switch , the zero should start changing from a 0 to a 1 and continue this until you change the position of the cherry switch. if it does not do this then you will NEVER get the machine to work.

p.s. under normal conditions with the optics connected, when you close the door and put the latch down, the 0 will start changing to a 1 if all is good.

I just ran the optics test that you posted here this morning. On the Main Door test.....I got a 0 when the door was open.....AND....when it was closed. Does this mean I need a new MPU board or what?

here is the wiring for the optics:

cabinet optic; green wire goes to J-11 pin1, violet wire goes to J-11 pin 2.

door optic: red/white goes to J-19 pin 4, green/ blue to belly switch comes out as a green wire which goes to J-19 pin 3.
