Issue with TITO in IGT AVP G23
« on: May 05, 2019, 06:57:19 PM »

If the machine sits for a few hours with no play ,
and then you try to cash out, it pauses for about 5-10 seconds trying to validate and then goes to hand pay.

If you press the reset button on the TITO , before cashing out it works fine . I have never once had this problem with my Bally’s (S9E, A1 V32) . I’ve tested with 2 different TITOs...same issue ?

I believe QNX6.5-0009A is B series OS?

AI014-B0A, AI014-B0C or AI014-B0D?

I was running the B0C and had the same issue, switched back to AI014-A09 (A series) and the issue went away.

Everybody that’s having this TITO issue
with there IGT G23 AVP , please post
your USB backplane voltage reading.

I’ve found an issue with the 5v/12v
power supply and would like to see if
it’s a common problem.

The easiest and safest method is with
a USB charger voltage current test
module as pictured.

eBay has them for $5

Thanks for the idea of measuring backplane voltage.  Just ordered one.  I am having TITO issues, but on a SAVP game.  Occasionally, the game will not accept tito tickets, but will accept cash and work properly.  This only happens once in awhile.  Already swapped bill acceptors, and the tito board to no avail.  A reboot, and it works every time.  Hoping it may be the power supply.  I would guess it uses the same one as a G23?

Will check my backplane voltage when that neat little device arrives.  :-)

It is not a usb power issue, I am using a 2 amp usb power adapter to drive the Tito board and I have the same issue on my G23.

I understand that you are powering your TITO
from your AC USB adapter and that’s fine .
The adapters put out 5.2-5.5vdc.

I was reading a slot tech article describing
a similar problem with the ticketing system in the
IGTs Triimlines and S2000s.

The issue I found is with the G23 AVP
5v/12v power supply. The 5vdc provides
the power to the backplane which
provides the power to the transmitter/receiver
ICs that control the customer ticketing system.

I think we all were looking at the TITO side
and it looks like it may be a backplane 5vdc
issue.

This may not be the issue , but my backplane
is 4.7vdc.( on bench unloaded 4.9vdc)
(Approx .5vdc too low )

FYI... the 12vdc is 12.5vdc.

I am going to replace the qty. 4 caps on
the secondary/ output side of the power supply.

I’ll post pics of 5v/12vdc power supply and what to replace.

 🤞 Mark
