I purchased a non working Bally 6000 slot Triple 7's Double jackpot Quick Hit Progressive.  After much reading I got the machine going.  The progressive screen was blank but the player's reader card was flashing and the message display was telling about Trump Plaza.  During final clean-up I was replacing the fluorescent lamp in the top progressive unit and noted all wires were removed from the display.  However there were cables laying everywhere along with 3 metal boxes of computer hardware all hooked together.  I could not resist  plugging in a 5 volt power cable into the progressive display and hooking up a ten pen connector to the display hoping I might get a miracle.  Well when I powered it up nothing lit up not even the reader card or display. The slot powered up as usual. Mad at myself for doing this foolish thing I immediately unhooked my power wires and the ten pin connector.  Apparently I damaged something and have no clue as what.  Now the card and sign are off.  Tried a clear to no avail.  Any ideas on how to get this back on would be greatly appreciated. I have some democratic friends I need to aggravate.

You probably just unplugged the scrolling Trump and the circus lights when you unplugged the progressive controller.

Thanks, I tried to find something unplugged.  The only 3 connectors to the card lights and the message board look like gray telephone connectors.  There is a empty connector socket on the reader board beside one connector that has a plug.  I even tried to plug the extra telephone unhooked connector in the top to it but it made no difference.  Those assemblies must get their power and info from those telephone type jacks.  There are no other connectors there nor jacks for anything else that I saw going to these front assemblies.

One of those phone lines should lead to a box, the box has a power supply and plugs into an outlet inside machine.

Fixed, Thanks Six Card Draw for the help.  You were correct.  The telephone type connector was disconnected from the box.  I guess I should just stop here although I have lots of wires and boxes up there.  I may have unplugged the power to the reader and message board before I hooked the connectors to the LED Display.  Any idea what might occur by hooking these two connectors to the Progressive board, or am I just chasing my tail?

I don't know what two connectors you are talking about.  I do not know anything about the progressive controller except it has nothing to do with the card reader or scrolling message.
