is you button panel a regular five button panel? where is the plug for the red LED display ? take a picture of the your display board on the inner door, this will show where it is connected. depending on where the connection is I probably have a harness you could swap out and hopefully solve some of your issues.
Jim
Hi Jim, Yes mine is a 5 button display.
So I used a magnifying glass to make the call that even though two pin connection points are pretty abused by the I/O board heating up, there doesn't appear to be a *shorting* issue, so I tried my other I/0 Board again (the one I replaced at first sign of it heating up), and VIOLA! I have Life again! I certainly don't feel confident in that female connector and am nervous to even touch it while trying to resurrect my machine, so it would be wise for me to try and pick up another harness. Thx. So - as for the current status......
*The Deck buttons light up
*The coin comparitor LED is lit
*The reels spin up the correct direction
*The Red LED display is on
I proceeded to do a clear/key procedure using the chips I got, and I make it up to the point of the *#7 Key chip Config* menu. Unfortunately though I am unable to get ANY of my newly lit-up buttons to work. I can't navigate into/past the Key Config screen (or get any of them to navigate at all).
I wonder if this I/O board sustained damage, but just not as much as the other one (which completely fried)? What else would cause the deck buttons to not function?
Attached is a pic of my Display board.
