S2000 printer communication error
« on: May 06, 2021, 08:07:01 AM »
Hi, I’ve been lurking for a bit learning about my machines but I cant seem to correct whatever I did to it/them.  :Scratch-Head: :Scratch-Head:

Long story short- I was trying to install bettor Tito modules in my s2000 machines. I thought I had one all set and when I went to print a ticket I got a coin jam error. I think no big deal, must have messed something up. So I clear 244 chip it, then key 45. Redo the settings many times, recleared, redid settings and the printer won’t enable. It has a green ready light and test feeds paper. It worked before I cleared the machine. And other than checking the paper and the light/feed button I haven’t messed with it. It will not communicate in the io test menu.  I removed the Tito module and tried to clear/setup again and still no deal. Im sure I’m missing something, sorry if it’s simple. I tried real hard to figure it out :)

Here are the steps I am taking.

Clr244 chip
Power on, two lights, power off
Key 45 chip
Power on, two lights, power off
Base chip
Power on, at ram error 4 turns on key- hold button as requested
Turn key three times
(I think close door at some point....recalling from memory but the machine tells me either way)
Machine boots into keychip 7 menu
Set denomination, machine as upright etc but printer will not enable at all. Machine says unable to communicate with printer. Does not show up in the I/o test menu either. Tried to reinstall nexplex or something like that and it doesn’t find it. I’m just at a loss here :( I spent a bunch of $ on these things and now I’m worried I ruined them.
