V22/32 Monitor NEED HELP
« on: May 09, 2021, 01:30:29 PM »
Hi there! Needing a 32" monitor panel for V22/32 cabinet.

So I have a Alpha Pro 2 V22/32 that was running Ultimate Firelink. It was running just fine the other night. Then the next morning the top monitor didn't want to display but power is in (powered on with green light). It would flash a few times.

I have an exact same cabinet running the same game so I plug all the cables from that board to this monitor, still nothing.

The conclusion is the monitor is busted (unless there is another explanation). Does anyone know where I can get the monitor? Links would be helpful thank you!!

The power supply on the monitor probably needs to be recapped.  My Alpha 2 V32 pro had the same issue, recapped the power supply and it's working again.

Also another thing to check would be the AD board. I had the exact same issue and replaced the AD board and like new it went back to working again.

If you have the "no signal" indicator on the screen, it's usually the AD board, if you get nothing at all when you power up, then it's power.

Hi Rick,

So it does not show the "no signal" sign. The panel power indicator light is lit, green when first powered then turn orange. What can I assume the issue be?

It's the power supply.  The inverter is not getting enough power to backlight the display.  On my OEM monitor the power supply is toward the bottom of the display kind of in the middle.  Large rectangular box where the power cable plugs in. I guarantee if you remove it and look the caps, there will be some that are bulging.

Hi Rick,

So mine came with the Tatung monitor. It's the not the typical V32 but the 22/32. Also, is recapping the ps be easy?

My V32 has a tatung.  It looks like the picture posted.  The power supply is enclosed in the red square.  If you have moderate soldering skills, recapping the power supply should not be too difficult.  If you have never soldered anything, I suggest you look for someone to do it for you, or buy a spare power supply to just replace.  These monitors are expensive, so the power supply fix/replacement is the sensible way to fix it.

I had two monitor down at one point. Thought both were the AD board until reading this post. AD board did fix one monitor. The other still isn't working. Constant Green light on the back of the monitor but nothing on the screen, not even no signal. After reading this I started searching for power supply on this monitor but it appears to me to not have one. Could've easily recapped but I don't think think monitor has one? Should I be looking at the machines power supply for issues? The machine fires up fine but nothing on the monitor.

In your case, the power is supplied by the cabinet.  If you have good power out of your cabinet, then it is probably your inverter.  In my case, since the power supply caps had bulges, I fixed that and the monitor came back to life.  I've had LCD's where the inverter is the part that went bad, your monitor is still displaying an image, it is just not backlit, so VERY difficult to see.  You basically need to look at the display at an angle and shine a strong light to it while having the monitor display a moving image.  You will see changes on the surface of the LCD that indicates that there is something going on.

Ahh ok got it. You're right of course. The picture is very faint but it is there. Any idea how to fix or replace the inverter?

I'll try to see if I can't hunt down the inverter board for this Monitor type.

Found the LED Drive board........Have the whole monitor taken apart. This is the only thing coming from the power harness that get plugged in. Wonder if replacing this would help? Found on ebay for $25. But guessing this isn't the inverter board?? IDK where it is?

I don't think that is what you need. Unless you do have the LED backlighting.

To get to the inverter board you will need to disassemble to the point you can see the board that is connected to the ccfl's if the display has them, or the LEDs.

Inverter boards usually look like this.

Tony

EDIT - I may be way off on this, I am familiar with CCFL's and LED replacements for the CCFL's. You probably have a display with LED's for backlighting and may need that board.

You can fix almost any electronic device by replacing the aluminum electrolytic capacitors.

Yeahhhhh, I'm not sure what ccfl's are but I don't think there's any more disassembling I can do on this monitor? I've got it all the way down to where I can see the led light on the inside that run from the power plug from the led drive board. Only other board I see here is a long long green one going vertically on one side of the monitor. Could that be it? It does not look like the inverter board in pics posted here. If anyone knows where I can find the inverter board please let me know. I gotta be missing something. I got AD board, control board, LED drive board, and Micro touch board. Only thing left is this long board going down the side unless I'm not looking somewhere.

In your first picture the edge lit LED's are on the right. where do the wires run from it? to a board in the monitor?

CCFL's are the older lighting that monitors used before LED's. they were basically small fluorescent tubes that required a high voltage supply (inverter). LED's use a driver board.

From the LED drive board which plugs into power plug.
