You will find torn or unconnected wiring with a number of S+ machines of all types.
Most machines in a modern casino would have a player tracking system that is customized for the casino that the machine is used in. When the machine is decommissioned they rip (literally rip) these out.
Often toppers are removed and more often than not after the screws are removed they cut the wires under the topper vs opening the door and disconnecting the molex's.
Many of the machines had enhanced security systems so when the security team opened the door they would need to key in specific codes to say it was legit or removed the cash can etc.
All of this hardware is usually removed but the wires remain.
