Im having a really hard time trying to get a 2000 series hopper working. The problem is it keeps blowing the 5amp fuse (on the hopper). There are 2 diodes (cr11 and 12) that keep breaking open. (when I unsolder them, they are literately broken in half.) I have replaced Q1 and Q2 also as they were also shorted. The fuse blows about 5 seconds after the hopper is energized for a payout. Motor never spins. (Its OK idle). Thought the motor had problems, but when I test it by applying 120vac to it directly, it runs normally. Just on a whim, I replaced all the said components again but this time replaced the diodes with heavy duty 3 amp diodes cause I was running out of the little glass diodes). I disconnected the motor wires and plugged it in. Once again when it energizes, the fuse blows in about 5 seconds. (without the motor connected. The diodes are checking OK for now. I am at a loss. Any ideas welcome. Unfortunately, I do not have another machine to swap with.

the diodes are 3amp/600volt, IN5626,   The Q-1&2 are  S4015L   15amp 400volt  SCR      Q-3 is a MAC15-6  400 volt  15amp TRIAC,  I would replace the MAC15-6 ( I think this is your problem)   and recheck Q-1   and Q-2 again.   Be carefull  soldering  those  components, the foil runs and pads lift easily. 

If all else fails, Contact GOS  a member here on NLG, he sells a new version of this board.

I agree with Q3 being bad. When they go bad, you will blow the 5amp fuse. I've replaced a few with good results.

Could not find the exact triac for Q3, but did find the equivalent. Ordered them today and I will let you know what happens. Thanks

They should work fine.. The original MAC15-6 is almost impossible to locate. I think I bought my thru Jamco last time and have not had a problem.
