E-Series P O T + $1000 program search
« on: April 13, 2015, 12:07:24 AM »
The reel tapes that come with the E-Series board tester has P O T and $1000 symbols on it.

Does anyone know what the program number would be for these reels?

Are there numbers on the reel strips? I might be able to match reel strip numbers to a game number.

Oh and is this a E1000 board tester or the E2000 tester (K661 ?)

No numbers on the reel tapes, I believe it is a 2000 tester.

I have the par sheet for the main program I am using as a test MPU board to fix other boards so I will get out my label maker and mark the reels that way.

Ok, so no numbers on the reel strip. I use a set of special test eproms on my tester and I do have the K-661
which is the E2000 tester. Here is a photo of it.

This tester has the Signature Analyzer on the left hand side and I have the Signature monitor which allows
me to repair all of the boards, including MPU boards

That is the same one I have but I use a scope and a schematic to fix the boards, I/O boards are the funnest when you have two data buss lines shorted inside one of the input or output chips.

When I got the tester it was wreck. The solution to most of the problems was to take the 3 large Molex connectors that route wires from the tester to the I/O and MPU boards and eliminate them with solder and heat shrink.

I also took the reel decoder board and extended it's connectors to the front of the reel mech so the board mounts on the outside of the mech.

Did the same with the hopper control board so it is mounted next to the I/O board and not inside the hopper.

Moving the hopper board is a little scary because there is 120 VAC so you have to make sure that it isn't
close to anything that might short out. I like the idea of moving the reel reader decoder board so perhaps
I should do that as well.

I have standoffs with screws through them with the heads cut off so the board holes fit down into the screws. Got the idea from how the MPU board and I/O board are mounted.
