Evening All,

I'm back again looking for some help.

I have a Bally E2090 that has worked in the past.  I got it a while back and with some help on the old NLG board got it working.  Now it is under the weather again.

The Display Meter shows bb..b7 when the door is open and bb..b1 when it is closed.  b=blank

An inserted coin drops right into the box.  No pull on the arm.

I had Dhellis check all of the boards, and they are all good to go.

Any questions and/or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Greg

Greg..

I have a couple questions.. Did you have Dhellis check the power supply board? What condition is the power cord, (don't think that's it but I alway check them).. Check your ribbon cable between the IO & MPU for damage. Do you have a coin mech or comparitor? Then check your power supply plug for condition, burnt or loose wires. Check that and let us know the findings.. One other thing you can do is to wiggle the power supply plug with the power on to see if your machine responds.

Gary,

First off, thanks for the help.

1. Dhellis did check the power supply board and said it was good.

2. Power cord condition looks good.

3. The ribbon cable between the I/O and MPU look good.  I also sent that onto Dhellis and he checked it and said it was OK. I also did a continuity check between each corresponding pin on the two ends and it checked out.

4. I believe I have a comparator.  Slip a quarter in the slot of the mechanism and then it recognizes quarters.

5. Power supply plug looks as good as new.  I found a cut on the cord.  Not short, so I re-taped it.  Looks like it got closed in the door at one time.

6. I fiddled with the plug with the power on and all it did was power on and off.  For a very brief time when it powers up I get a . . . . .6 on the display before it switches to b b . . b 1 (b=blank)

Let me know what all this tells you if anything.

Thanks again,

Greg
