Mechanical Reels Device Error.

Hi All
I have a Bally Alpha that I have real error message.( see attached photo) When I got the machine the reel control board had a burn spot so I ordered a replacement today. The reels will move slowly and in different directions on start up. Then they will go for a while then stop and shake and start again. I have checked all the connections and swapped the 24 volt power supply from another alpha and it started to spin normal during start up then back to the same problem. I tried to configure the reels but same problem.
Ideas on where I should look next?

Since the reels are acting funky, replace the reel control board from a known working machine (that's the little board that is on a tray right on top of the reels).

I am having the same problem with one of mine. Reel #5 just jumps around.
looks like I'm going to have to try the same thing.

If you move reel 5 to another position does the problem move along with the reel?  The one issue that is common with alpha reels is their stepper controller board goes bad.  If the issue follows the reel, you just need to get that reel replaced.

I switched reels 4&5 and reel 4 in the 5 spot did exactly the same thing.
so I'm sure the reel is fine. all the connections look correct as well.

I pulled out the reel control board, looked fine, re-installed nice & snug. Working now.
It probably rattled loose in shipping. I wish everything was that easy  :Tongue_Out:
