IGT Reel Touch Games / Re: Reel Touch board repair question
« Last post by Phan000 on Today at 08:39:42 AM »
Follow up-

Re-capping the board did not immediately fix the problem.  Many were bulging,  so was a good investment in any case.

I smacked the processor a few times & the top box posted briefly and booted.

I replaced the process & fan.  Top box is in good shape.

Put it all back together.  Just a few issues left-  battery,  door optics, BV.

Big thanks to Qbert for some extra help!

Did this file ever get in? The OP never replied and the first post was one year ago.

Look for a label on a long chip on the MPU that has the first two letters with "SB".
There are six numbers after the SB letters...give us those numbers, and we can tell you what game the MPU is for.

Or just google the entire SB number online.

For example, SB100948 could be a possible software game chip for your "Enchanted Unicorn".

Have you tried cleaning all the bill path sensors and rollers in the BV using a slightly damp cloth?

By the way...when does the actual jam occur?

Yes, there is one light at G that is almost always lit.  The Universal Bill Acceptor has a pair of guides that move in and out to accept different-sized bills.  The light at G simply indicates that the guides have returned to their home position.

What I am interested in... After an error ( like a Bill Jam ) the red LED at H should blink a certain number of times ( and repeat until the error is cleared).  We can cross reference that to determine what kind of error we are looking at.

A software update requires a computer with the JCM Toolsuite with a standard USB A-B cable. The stand-alone unit for programming is the Bluewave.
