S2000 Keeps repeatedly saying "Display passes self-test" but wont boot up ??

Hi All, I have a Lucky 7's machine that when I turn the power on it will just continue to say "display passes self test" repeatedly and do nothing besides a couple lights flickering. The top 2 amber lights on the MPU flash together and the bottom 3 are on solid. I have tested the battery and it has 3V, I have also tried to clear the board with a 0224 chip and key 0031 but the same thing happens. The machine did work fine until I had to move it and 30 min later it started doing this, not sure if this effected it in anyway. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Check the power supply behind the reels to make sure it’s plugged into the cabinet plug. There is a thumb screw located on the left side of the power supply. It slide into the plug on the right end. They do come loose. Also when you move the machine, did you remove the coin hopper if your game has one? If not you could have coins spilled inside causing a short.

Thanks for the reply, I checked the power supply and all appeared to be good. I removed and reseated it and same thing  . I have a working 10x pay could I remove the board and put in that machine just to test the board or will it mess things up ?

The board is a 504R with the piggy small piggy back board on the top. Am I using the right chip set ? 0224 clear and key 0031

Do you mean 504B board?  I use clear 097 with key 31.  With clear 224 I use key 45.  Not sure if 224 will work with key 31.

224 will work. Key 31 will work with most SG chips (not all). Key 45 is more versatile.

Can I take the working board out of my 10 tines play and out it in this machine and vise versa to see if its a board issue ?

Sure if it is also a 50X board.

Well I either have bad clear chips or a bad board .When I do the clear and key chip procedure the bottom 3 lights stay on solid and the top 2 amber lights just keep flashing.

My board is a 75510504 revB with the piggy back board attached to the top. Do I need the exact same # board with the piggy back board for triple lucky sevens with back lit reels ?

Any of the 500 series boards will work. The piggy back board sounds like a MMII Board used to play a sound simm for the game.

You probably want to stick to 504 board.
You may get a really annoying buzz coming from the speakers with the others

Does the bill validator cycle when you turn on the machine?
When you say it displays "passes self test" repeatedly does it just stay on or does it cycle on and off?

Yes the bill validator will just continue to cycle non stop and "passes self test" display continues to cycle on and off too. When this is happening the two top amber lights flash continually and the lower three lights stay on solid. I have tried hitting the reset button, turning the jackpot key and even clearing the board with 0224 clear chip and 031 key and it just does the same thing even when I am doing the clear procedure almost as if the board is not reading the clear chips....I have visually inspected the board and it is perfectly clean with no corrosion anywhere.

Yes, I wait and wait. I installed the 0224 chip, turned on the machine and the light do the exact same as when the game chips are in. When I turn the machine on the two top amber lights start blinking instantly and the three below come on instantly too but are solid.

If you are sure the chip was facing the right direction, you are going to have to try either a different chip or a different mpu board.

My bet would be on the mpu. Did you check all your chips for bent pins? Also check the pins where the mpu plugs into the mother board.
