If the multiplier works for one side it seems likely it would be okay for the other side.
Is there a relay in the top unit that alternates the payouts from orange to green.
If both green and orange have a win, how does it payou then?
Meaning do the right amount of coins come out?

Good question, I took a picture of the top unit. I know nothing as to how that works.

A payout on both games resulted in an overpay. What should have been 10 coins came out 70 and the hopper stopped on its own. I believe the orange (left) payout pays first followed by the green (right) payout.

Looking at the payout wipers after the payout, the left side (orange game) paid correctly, 5 coins. The wiper on the green side was way up there but seem to be on the silver strip. In the upper unit, the counter wheel is at 7.

Pictures of these are below. Picture 1 is where the green wipers stopped. Picture 2 is where the orange stopped. The game should have paid 5 coins on each side.

Still no progress. I don't think the problem is in the multiplier after all.

With just one coin in (on each side), when one cherry hits 3 different things have happened. It pays 25 coins then waits and times out, pays 25 coins and stops saying "winner paid", or continues to pay and does not stop.
When 2 stars hit and it should pay 4, nothing happens at all!

Oh, the fingers on the payout unit are always at the same position after a pay, as in the picture in the last post.

I have examined every wire, Beau plug, Molex plug, contact and coil. There is no grease, oil, sludge or dust. I keep my machines very clean.
There is something is wrong in that payout unit.

This is where owning sets of extension cable comes in handy.
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

From what you have described it appears to be a malfunction in the payout unit.
If its always in the same place and or doesn’t return all the way, its going to have some odd payouts.
Something could be holding it from returning to zero. Llook for a wire that is interfering with mechanism, or the mechanism isn’t resetting due to a wire hanging on by one strand. Possible burr on the release mechanism.

Themultiplier might be malfunctioning.
Manually advance the pinball score reel a few times. Check that tab stops on the wheel for wear and or partially broken / missing. It may be multiplying over and over causing the payout unit to keep running.

You are correct! The problem WAS in the payout unit. The problem was when I inspected the switches, I didn't manually step up the unit. The two switches in the picture open and close with each coin counted. The switch on the right was touching the whole time, barely moved by the lever. A little adjustment and she's back on track!

The game plays and pays perfectly! I'm labeling this one finally "over and done"!  :thank_you:

Thank you to everyone who helped. I really appreciate it!
