My bill acceptor doesn’t cycle with up dated eprom in my S+..

I just went to install the newest software for this S+ WBA. It’s in my Haywire game. I had been running the 3.60 software, but was looking forward to running the ID 022/23 V3.75-03 software that allows me to run everything except the new $100 Bills. I changed the chip and installed the unit back in the game and powered it on, but it won’t cycle. I reseated it and the cash can 2X, nothing .. Do I need to run the set chip after after swapping out the bill acceptors software?

The cycle occurs as part of the Bill Validator irrespective if it is active.
I would venture to guess you have a bum chip or have installed it backwards.
There is typically a small circle or knotch that matches up with the notch on the chip socket.
They need to be the same way.


Does it cycle without a chip ? If you put the old software back in does it work ?

EPROMs installed notch to notch and it is a burned chip. The unit does work with the 3.60 put back in.

Gary, you might check the speed of the burned chip. WBA 12/13 requires 90ns or faster according to JCM but 100ns usually will work. Wouldn't use anything slower than 100ns.

Thanks for the information. I got this one from a friend. My laptop crashed about a week ago. Need to have it looked at. So I’m basicly flying blind here
