Bally S6000 won't power up. Makes clicking Noise? RESET flashes.

I just picked this up over the weekend. This is my first Bally Machine and second ever slot machine. It is not working and I would like to trouble shoot it. The game itself does not power up but only the florescent lights come on. The red reset light flashes dimly and I can hear a pulsating sound coming from the speaker in time with the light. It flashes about once per second. If I unplug the speaker, I can still hear a clicking noise still in time with the pulsating red light. If I remove the motherboard, I can still hear the clicking noise. Any ideas where to start? I tried to do a reset with no success. Maybe I am not doing it properly. Maybe a reset won't fix it either. I also don't have any power to the coin comparitor or any of the game play buttons and nothing powers up. I know the power supply is working.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just a little update. I removed the mother board and powered it back on. Still can gear the noise. I thought maybe it was the meters up top clicking but no coming from there. I unplugged each reel one at a time and the clicking stopped after reel#3 was unplugged. I plugged each reel in by itself and they all 3 are clicking. I tested the reel harness from the reels to the back board and checks out okay. It is either in the reels or the back board. No telling what else could be bad but figured may have to start there. Error codes don't appear, reels don't try to spin. nothing.

Check the pins on the mpu where it plugs in

Looks like a DC voltage problem.  I have a new power supply coming.  I will keep you posted.  thanks.

**Update***  I replaced the power supply and now have voltage at all the output pins comming out of the power supply gray box far left plug.  The florescent lights now seem brighter.  The clicking noise and speaker noise are gone now.  The MPU Red Reset LED is now brighter but still flashes steady at about 1 time per second.  I now can manually work the coin hopper motor via the buttons on the hopper board and now I have a yellow LED lit on the circuit board just below the coin comparitor.  Still no light on the coin compairitor.  I even tried a working compairitor from another machine and still no light.  The win paid does not light up and neither do the buttons.  The reels don't spin.  I tried unplugging every harness and working back and forth.  Still no luck.  I just got finished checking the MPU and all chips & jumpers appear to be in the right places.  Nothing plugged in backwards and the DIP switches seem to be set in the correct positions.  The battery on the MPU is testing good at 3.6 volts.  I did try to do a reset by pressing the pseudo & test buttons and moving the  J10 jumper to on but still no luck.


** Does this sound like a reset problem or  something else?  I would think I would get some kind of Reel movement or lights on the win / paid or a code?  Someone told me that I need Clear Chips to reset this.  Does that sound correct?  Is it normal for everything to be dead like this when it just needs a reset?   This is my first Bally Machine so I don't know much about how they should act.   Any help appreciated.   Richard

I would disconnect the plugs in the machine
one at a time till you find which circuit is pulling too much power.

I found out it is an S5500 and not a 6000.  I am going to squash this and start a new posting.    Thanks.
