Bally’s 1088-2 Tilt light help !
« on: February 22, 2021, 07:34:43 PM »
Hi, I am so happy to be part this wonderful website.
I have been repairing Japanese pachislo slot machines for months now.
I recently acquired a gorgeous Bally’s 1088-2 quarter slot machine.
The unit is in great shape!
The reels spins and all lights work.
The problem with the unit is that it’s stuck in “Tilt” mode. The tilt light is on all the time. So it doesn’t pay out.

I’m looking for help fixing or bypassing the tilt sensor. I have not trouble shooted it as it seems a little more complex than the pachislo machines I’m used to, lol.

I’ve attached photos of the beauty.

Hello..  That is a 1088 Buy a pay.. That means that you must pay a second, and a third coin to win the larger winning combinations. These machines always power on to a tilt mode. Have you tried to close the door and latch it, and feed it a couple coins? The tilt light should go out after the first play or when the coins were inserted.. I don't remember when?
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Thanks for replying.

I have original keys for the machine, yes we have closed it and played a couple times, odd thing is the tilt stays on, and I never win! Never!
I’ve read somewhere that it won’t pay out when it’s on tilt.
I’ve. Even held the reels in place on 3 bars and it didn’t pay. No sound or movement from the hopper. Odd.

While taking pics and cleaning it, I noticed inside the machine some loose nuts and screws and a broken tab. I now know the broken tab came from a switch leaf going to the pull lever.
Also I noticed a bent capacitor on the hopper, do u think any of these might be my problem causing tilt?
