Bill Validator denomination question
« on: October 22, 2014, 06:56:43 PM »
I have a question about the b/v denomination. On my triple diamond the b/v doesn't work so far (another thread). Today I was reading that after setting the enable value to 9.1, you need to set the denomination or the b/v will not work. I knew I didn't set the denomination so I wondered if that was my problem. After putting in the set chip and verifying the 9.1, I went to the denomination setting which I found to be at 5¢. I changed it to 25¢ and it didn't make any difference. The b/v still doesn't work (changing to wba 13ss). My question is: If the machine doesn't work according to the denomination setting only what coin comparator is being used and the hopper of equal size. 1 credit equals 1 credit. If a person set the denomination value to say 5¢, Would you get 2,000 credits for a $100 bill. Mine was set to to 5¢ but still read every 25¢ as 1 credit. I changed it to 25¢ but it made no difference. Would this work to make a lot of credits (you don't have to use a $100 for 5¢ credit) on your machine? A $50 would put a 1000 credits on pretty quick this way. Just wondering, any thoughts or answers? Thanks.

The machines have no way of knowing what coin you put in to the machine other than the coin matches the one in the comparitor.  You could set the denomination to 1 penny and have the machine physically built to accept dollar tokens.  If you put in a dollar bill into the machine, it will give you 100 credits since the denomination is set to 1.  If you put a dollar token into the machine, it will only give you 1 credit.  As far as the machine is concerned, 1 coin = 1 credit, unless you tokenize.

Thanks, I wondered if that was the case. Easy way to put credits on for home use.
