Bally alpha gen 2 printer problem

Machine runs great but I can't get the ticket printer to work properly. Every time I clear the machine and set it up as soon as I select seiko Psa-66 it comes up and says voucher printer com error. I think it has something to do with the firmware of the printer?  I know the ticket printer works, but I did remove it from an Igt S2000 machine. Could this have something to do with the problem?

The game is hotshot progressive with one of Fosters TITO BOARDS installed.

There's your issue.  You need an rs-232 printer for bally alphas.  You have a netplex printer, only works with IGT machines.

Is there a specific firmware I need, I see a couple on eBay  but I want to make sure they will work before I buy them?

Not that it is any consolation, A while back I got 8 alphas "parts complete" -Love that phrase-anyway all the ticket printers had been removed and the Ps-66 (piece of sheets) were laying in the bottom with ALL the other correct brackets,faceplates etc.  I been around a while. Hey, after all it was parts complete, Just diff. parts.  You all know who you are.  --Sorry abount the rant on your thread-777.

I've always just bought them from vendors here.  They know where they came from so they always work for me.  That being said, I don't believe there's an issue with firmware as long as the printer is an rs-232 printer and not netplex.
