Door switch problems

I have a 17" I-game and the door switch does not seem to be working.  Screen says "call Attendant", I open door but there is no message that door is open, reset switch does not work.  I've tested both the door and reset switch and they both check out with my meter.


I've tried a couple different 044 boards and several different i/o boards.  Checked and wires are connected to door and reset switches.

Did you check the belly door switch?  It's in series with the main door switch.

I need check belly switch and it has be cut and wired together to always show it as closed.
I think my problem is that the machine never thinks door is open.  When you get the call attendant message you normally have to open door, then door open M appears.  this does not happen.  If I open cash can door I do get the door open B which changes to door B closure when I close it.


Does any one know if the door open circuit goes through the 044 and backplane?  I have not changed backplane yet.

You're right, that wouldn't matter if it's not seeing the door as being open.  Yes it does go through the motherboard on J11 and J19.  Here's a wiring diagram for the main and belly door.

Sounds like the door switch is not working.
If it's a cherry switch, a multimeter will tell you immediately..

Strange but I left the machine on over night last night.  Today when I was walking by it I noticed the screen had changed from just Call Attendant to having message door was open and to turn the reset key to continue.  Can't imagine what changed with it just sitting there!!


for now it is working great, I was able to test a stack of 044 boards too.

It may be a thermal intermittent problem?  See if it returns when the machine has been shut off and has cooled down for awhile.
