WBA 13 SS ID024 Bill Validator will not sink up with

I am having a problem getting my bill validator to work.  When I have it plugged in, on the back of it, my monitor won't come on and I get the flashing lights underneath and flashing green on the coin receptor. But when I unplug the back of the bill validator, then everything turns on fine, no flashing lights they stay on and menu comes up on screen, and touchscreen works. Any idea what this could mean or what the problem is.  I don't know what to do at this point.  Any advise would be so appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like the BV is not passing the netplex config at startup. Are you positive the software is ID024? Are all dip switches on the BV off? Is there a RS232 board on the side of the BV transport? Pics would help.

That's the right software for IGT. Doubtful it has a RS232  card attached. That would cause problems if so. Verify that all dip switches are in the off position. Will the machine boot normally with the BV removed? By the way, you did not identify the machine itself but I assume it's an IGT vision, or I-Game.

Also check to be sure all 3 connections behind the BV housing are hooked up. The fourth one pictured is not used.

What type of machine is this in?  Sounds like a GK or I-game?  If so, it possible your power supply may be going out.  Try disconnecting the DC input power to the belly glass fluorescent ballast (that one is the easiest to get to) and see if the BV works like that with it disconnected.  If it does, then your power supply is probably bad.
