You didn't say, did you look up that error code?

http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=7735.0

83 SafeRAMâ„¢ Error SafeRAMâ„¢ failed to retain information during self-test.
83F-0 Invalid SafeRAMâ„¢ EPROM Wrong EPROM's used for SafeRAMâ„¢ Clear.
83F-1 Invalid Main EPROM Wrong Main EPROM's detected after SafeRAMâ„¢ Clear.
83F-2 Invalid Personality EPROM Incompatible Personality EPROM's detected after SafeRAMâ„¢ Clear.
83F-3 Invalid Coin Denomination Coin denomination not supported in Market Code.

Have you ever had the cabinet operating or is this a new-to-you project?

Stating the obvious:
Did you get the + and - correct on the battery/board?
Did you replace the eproms [U28 U43] in the correct slots in the correct orientation?
Did you go into option 11d and set up the cabinet?
Is the board firmly reinstalled in the cabinet?

Maybe it is time for a complete clear?  [I have always done a complete clear and set it up so I know where I have things set]
See if anyone else might have some ideas or suggestions?

I never had this running ....
Everything you question is correct
What’s the procedure for a full clear ??
It wouldn’t go into the 11d’s
I get the error rather than it going into date/clock setup

Are you turning on DSW1 #8 and holding in the test and pseudo coin buttons until you see CHC CLC?

What’s the procedure for a full clear ??

I downloaded the Bally s6000 Manual from the NLG File System and i believe it was in the first section.

You might find instruction or a video by searching either this or the old site...

FYi I don't use leave in clear/mains so I don't touch the switch, gotta know which clears you are using. Then you need to press/hold the correct switches/buttons...

Check your power supply voltages.

5V should be around 5.16V.

Make sure battery jumper is on both pins.

Make sure battery voltage is reaching RAM chips.

I believe that is the instructions to clear when using leave-in clear/main eproms...

Should be nothing to do with the power supply...

Last resort before sending board to my shop.
Swap the two RAM chips, top to bottom, bottom to top then try a clear.

Just a question have you verified the voltage of your replacement batteries? Just because they may have come new out of a package doesn't mean they are good.
Just seems like you are having multiple problems on many machines after "battery " replacement.

I always check them as soon as I take them out of the package because I order them in bulk
I have four of these machines two of them cleared and set up very easily these last two are giving a real hard time I have used the same chips to clear and set up countless 6000’s with no problems I have no idea what is going on with these I have tried different CPUs and many things I am starting to wonder if the mains aren’t messed up or newer than my clears will allow

Been there and simply swapping the RAM chips top to bottom, bottom to top, fixed the problem.
