How to decode SafeRAM complete clear procedure
« on: September 09, 2015, 02:20:08 PM »
replaced CMOS battery without maintaining continuous connection and as a result, now have to perform a Complete Clear.  Manual is pretty thick with jargon I do not understand, such as "...remove the main EPROMs from U12 and U15," and replace them with the "corresponding Clear Chips".  What and where are the main EPROMs and where is U12 and U15?  Where can I obtain "corresponding Clear Chips"?

Main eproms as the instructions say, are in positions U12 and U15, they should be labeled on the mpu board.  The clear chips you need to buy the correct clear chipset depending on your game.  You will need to post what game you have and what version it is.

Thank you, Sir.  I appreciate the help.  I have a Bally 5500 ProSlot 25 cent slot machine.  it was taken out of Harrah's some time ago. I got it from a friend who's no longer with us.  Since my post, I pulled the mb and did a jump on J10, covering both posts, reinserting the mb, I pushed both the test and the pseudo coin buttons and held them down while turning inside power switch back on, holding buttons for about 10 seconds until the CL C or the CH C reading displays, which it did.  I then shut it down, pulled the mb and changed back the pin(s) configuration back on J10. I re-installed the mb, turned power back on and all is good.

I don't think that's the way the manual says it should be done, but everything seems fine.

we shall see.

thanks again for the help.  It was appreciated.
