Yes, most game changes only need the reel eprom, reel strips, and glass changed out.

Need Help understanding how to change games on an IGT S Plus Slant Top 1994 Slot Machine:

So basically i just bought a 1994 IGT S Plus Slant Top 25 cent (3 Coin) Double Diamond Slot Machine w/bill validator 10Mhz Motherboard.

I am looking to purchase some other Game kits (Glass, Reels, Eproms Ect).

I seem to understand that the SP Eprom is the Game Rom and the SS Eprom is the Reels rom. Correct?

From the URL above it explains replacing the GAME/REELS Eproms and such. Most i understand. Some things I really dont.

The Game ROM in the Double Diamond Machine right now, has no label on it, that has any details available to me. It looks like many labels were added and removed over the years.  So I am not sure what type SP# EPROM this exactly is.

So are Games not really specific and just a type?  Type 0 or Type 5?   So as long as you have the a proper SP Chips that uses the Game Type any game will work as long as they match the SP and SS eproms can communicate properly as needed?

Saying the above there is not specific Double Diamond Eprom or Haywire Eprom (Game Eprom)?  It just depends on the SP Eprom Game Chip Type that supports the game your installing (Eprom wise) on the board in your slot machine.  The SS Reels Eprom has the Pay % and tells where the reels should stop and any (Nudge Up or Down) For Balloon Bars or Haywire or such.

The Document: SP_chip_list_rev_B_(97_doc_format).xls 
shows Index #54    SP Game Chip SP611    Game Types 0,1,4,5,12     so as long as the game type your using falls into this category the game you change to will still work?

Double Diamond is Type 0 (game) so the SP Game Chip needs to have Game Type 0 (zero) available. So the SP611 chip should work as listed above?
Balloon Bars is Type 1 (game) so the SP Game Chip needs to have Game Type 1 available. So the SP611 chip should work as listed above?
Coral Reef is a Type 5 (game) so the SP Game Chip needs to have Game Type 5 available. So the SP611 chip should work as listed above?

Basically the SP Game Chip SP611 Game Eprom would support all 3 games above?

So as long as i find the proper SS Chip (For Balloon Bars and Coral Reef) per the web page.

So just finding the proper SS Eproms and Reels basically changes the game in most cases?

Sorry for all the ramblings here i am just so new that i want to fully understand what i am doing and what i am getting into.
