Bad Circuit IG slot

I would like to see if I get get my machine back up and running, had it looked at by a tv tech and he said it’s a bad circuit and they don’t make the circuit that’s needed anymore, he said they can get a refurbished but no guarantee and it’s quite pricey, looking on how and if I can order and replace my self and nock down the cost of repair, any advice and recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thank you.

At first I was told just a circuit and turns out to be the board.

Pretty vague, what circuit did he say was bad?

You should start with the white power connector on the edge of the backplane board.
Unplug it then plug it in multiple times.
Make sure the computer board is plugged in all of the way.

They must charge about $800/hr for labor because if you can't change an S+ MPU board in 30 minutes then you shouldn't be doing it.

Why that’s the reason I go to this page for support and help thank you! Question on the board the alpha they told me to get a D and the link you provided shows a B, does that make a difference

I have no idea.  Maybe whoever told you to get the Rev D board can?  Usually a Rev change is just a minor change or update from the previous revision.

Rather than trusting the very vague diagnosis of a "tv tech" how about providing more information and starting from scratch?  There are plenty of people here that can walk you through trouble shooting the problem.  You can also read some of the previous posts and find the general  procedure to point to the most likely problem and possible solutions.  I'm 99% sure that you can fix it that way rather than paying more than the machine is probably worth for a questionable MPU replacement?

To start, more information is sorely needed.  Was it working fine and then stopped or is it new to you?  Exactly what does/doesn't happen when you power it on.  A description of what the machine is exactly helps immensely.  The name of the game, along with a few pictures of the whole machine and with the door open.  (hint, if you email the pictures to yourself can reduce the size so that you can upload here)   The Game ID numbers from the Game and Reel PROMs on the MPU along with a clear picture of the board also useful.

Machine was purchased and working for approx 10 years with no problem, about 1 year ago it quit doing a system check at power up, reels would not spin and there were no lights in the led displays, coins drop straight down into payout pan, only 1/2 of the machine lit up and non of the push buttons would light up, I put a message and pictures of the inside and several in the group spotted a burn connection on the power supply cable behind the hopper, I ordered a new one and replaced it but that did nothing for the machines performance so I took machine to repair shop and they tell me the main board I see bad but they no longer make the part and want to charge me more than the machine is worth, so I'm looking for better more affordable options (can I find the part and fix on my own with some help here)?

Can you clarify something?

In your message thread from May, you stated that you have replaced the power supply harness, but in the video you posted there it is clearly not a new power supply harness, as seen in the picture I've attached to this post.

Was this video taken after you replaced the power supply harness? If so, you did not replace the correct harness.

Thank you to all on this thread the machine is back up and working, FYI I was led by some one who saw the comments and helped out tremendously in trouble shooting the problem, so what the repair shop deemed a $800. Repair turned out to be a bad fuse and was back up and running for a $4.00 bill.... hoping that the New Year is a great one for you all!!!
