bally s9000 -printer com lost during print

I have a Bally alpha s9000 hotshot. Printer was disabled  when I got it. Did the clear so I can set it up. Got everything  set up but kept getting-( printer com lost during print) in the com1 I tried the following steps also (In the Comm settings in the section for Host1 set for SAS Primary then select the configure box and set Validation as Standard[/size]Return to the previous page and select "Set" this will then highlight the box in the middle of the screen either "Host or Dual Host this will highlight the boxtouch the highlighted box and you will then enter the control section, selectMachine Control as SAS PrimaryVoucher Out - SAS Primary)
Problem with that is under validation standard wasn't  an option . Am I missing something? Printer- ithaca 850   [/size][/font]

You need an SJUR that allows for standard validation, yours probably doesn't.   Although com lost is probably printer related, it is probably bad or has the wrong firmware on it.

Thanks,  how can I check/change printer firmware? When I install better tito deluxe will that resolve part of issues at least setting wise?

Well bettor tito will require the system setting on SAS, and they all have that, so that problem will be taken care of.  The printer timeout, might not.  There's a way to do a self test on the printer, depending on model.  Search for it in the forum search.  I don't have a x-reference on which firmwares work with bally though.
