I have come to the conclusion also that the games chips are the problem.So where could I buy the SG363 chips and would my stepper base be ok or will I have to replace that also ?

I think your base chip is okay because the machine would be giving you messages like [CRC Error] if there was something wrong with the chip.
RB is a member here, shoot him a message for a pair of SB000363's while we're trying to figure out your problem.
If you cant get a hold of him, there's always ebay or SpinInc

hate ebay at times seems like you buy other people junk when it comes to electrical or tech when labeled "used condition" and the hassle of returns. Costs more in shipping then the hassles. So this RB is a member and do I just send out a post  hoping he'll reply cuz I just joined recently and not sure how to navigate around this site just yet.

I'm thinking your SG316's are exactly like the SG362's.

I threw in clear chip (IVC00224) and SG363's and waited until I got the top 2 amber lites on the MPU board with door opened.
Turned off machine and reinstalled the 2 coin Double Diamond base I have for my game.
Turned on machine and VFD shows "checking memory" message then [RAM] error pops up.
Turned reset key 3 times and close the door.
[Call Attendant] message pops up, opened door, horn sounds and turned reset key twice.
Left the door opened.
[Please Wait...Testing Memory] message in VFD...reels spin and get [Machine Type Mismatch] error and  [Door Open M] messages.
Closed door, message still there...no change.

Opened door and pressed test button for 3 seconds....[1 Accounting ] in display now.
Pressed "CashOut" button 6 times to get to page [7 Key Chip Config].
Pressed "Spin" button 5 times to get to [Accounting     :      -----]     

Pressed "CashOut" button 18 times to set for  .25 cents.
Pressed "MAX" bet twice to get  back to [7.1.1.1.1 Accounting Denomination] page.
Pressed "CashOut" button once to get to [7.1.1.2 Coin Denomination] submenu page.
Pressed "Spin" button once to get to [Coin     :     -----] page.
Pressed "Spin" button one more time to light up "CashOut" button to set coin denomination to .25 cents by hitting the "CashOut" button 18 times.
Pressed the "Max"button twice to get back to [7.1.1.1 Accounting Denomination] page.
Pressed "CashOut" button twice to get to [7.1.1.3 Player Denomination] page.
Pressed the "Spin" button button once and VFD shows [Player Denom 1 $0.25]
Pressed the "Max" bet button 3 times to get back to the  [7 Key Chip Config] page.

Now I've set all my denominations.

Using the "CashOut" button, I went to [7.1.6 Machine Type] and set it for an "Upright".
Tried to set WAMM/IPC in [7.1.4  WAMMM   -   IPC Setup] and I get the [Version Unknown] message.
I find that I cannot change anything in [7.4.1.2 Setups] although the "Spin" button is lit up.
I hit the "Spin"button all I want to try to enter the submenu but it doesn't do a thing.

When I closed the door, "Upright" error is gone on the VFD but the "Please Select WAMM or IPC unknown" and "Call Attendant" message still alternates on the VFD.

My suggestion?
Go shopping for a pair of SG363's....I'm done.
I'm re-installing my SG363's... These SG362's can go in the garbage can for all I care....lol

***UPDATE***

I Keychipped it again with a Key31. (Waited until I got 2 Amber lites on top.)

I threw bck in the Base chip (2c Double Diamond) I immediately went back to the [7.1.4  WAMMM   -   IPC Setup] page

I noticed the "CashOut" button allowed me to switch it between either the "WAMM" or "IPC" settings in that submenu!!

I pressed the "CashOut" button button once to choose "IPC" then hit the "Max" bet button a bunch of times to get back to the game mode and closed the door.

All the errors are gone!
The machine works perfectly!

Hey thanks, now you can understand why I myself is flustered over this whole ordeal. Tried RB but he told me to try ebay cuz they would be cheaper than him, have a call in at spininc also . Meanwhile I'm looking on ebay for some.

Re-read the bottom of my last Reply!I found the answer!

You need to Key it again with the Key31 and go back right away to the [7.1.4  WAMMM   -   IPC Setup] page....it'll work! 


Later on, you can go set everything else "Sounds, volume, printer, etc)

I'll have to go buy a Key 31 chip for I don't have one and should I buy a IVC00224 clear chip also ,will that replace my 97 clear chip ?
