Life of Luxury progressive screen computer
« on: March 18, 2021, 03:02:54 PM »
So i have 4 life of luxury bb3 machines that also has the computer to put all the progressives on a monitor. My issue is that once i connect anything with an RJ45 to usb to the computer it errors the progressives on all the machines and says good luck. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of adapter i need to go to that computer to get the progressives to work? Any help would be awesome!

The lap controller needs to be connected using the progressive "Y" board.  There should be a board that has a few ic's on it with 2 RJ45 ports on it and white molex connector dual row (I believe is either 8 or 10 pins).  This molex connects to the progressive header on the backplane, and then a cable connects one of the "Y" board's RJ45 connector to the RJ45 connector on the progressive controller that is the RS-422 port, in most cases this is a standard rs-232 DB9 port on the progressive controller that has an rs-232 to rs-422 adapter with an RJ-45 plug on it.  If you want to connect multiple machines to the controller, then you connect the second port of the "Y" board to the next machine, and so forth.  So only one machine has the direct connection to the progressive controller, the other machines, daisy chain through the "Y" board.

Let me correct myself our lap controller is fine and all of the machines are working but we have another computer that is labeled mc3.0 and it goes to a normal tv that shows the progressives and the games. That is what I’m trying to hook up.

Oh, you need to connect the media controller. The only information I have regarding that is this diagram I got a while back.

Oh okay. Are you familiar with the physical setup at all? Currently this bank of machines doesn’t have a termination or 2 Y boards in the final node. It just ended with an RJ45 open on the final Y board. I tried to hook this to the Ethernet ports and it killed the LAP network until it was removed. I tried a DB9 to RJ45 to use the existing serial comms on the media controller but didn’t get anywhere, either, but it didn’t kill the LAP network.
