1957 Bowling Game Parts Needed for Restoration
« on: June 10, 2015, 07:45:32 AM »
I just picked up TWO bowling machines; one is a Bally ABC Bowler using a 3 in. ball, the other is a smaller, United Chief Shuffle Alley machine. Both are in pretty good shape, but will need to be gone thru to get them up and running. They have been sitting for many years, but worked when they were stored.

My question:

Does anyone know the best place to find parts for them? I need a few plastic pins, bowling balls and pucks.

The back glass could use a little work on both. Someone, somewhere, knows who supplies restoration parts for these machines, so if you know, please post it.

Thanks!

I think you'll have a hard time finding  pins with numbers at fair  price I would see if later model shuffle puck bowler pins will work if you replace full set they will all look same , last place I got them  was competive products in pa  guy is fair on shipping and price unlike happ , there are a few guys on rgp news group that do ball bowlers  but get ready to bend over  for them  ,they will rob you imo

After a great deal of cleaning and checking contacts and relays, I got this machine working 100%. Woo Hoo!
Replaced the back glass with an absolutely beautiful reproduction, replaced the four balls, shimmed the playfield sections to match seamlessly, and replaced about 100 light bulbs.

Flash back to the fifty's with this relic. Even the insides has that 50's smell. 14 ft. long, 6 ft. high. Can't wait to get it into the game room. Next in line, a 1953 United Shuffle Alley.

Very nice... I remember playing those, whole lot of fun and not that easy.. Where did you locate a glass?
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Found the back glass on-line, a company in St. Louis who specializes in reproduction parts and restoration. Both machines are working 100% and will sit in my garage until the game room is ready for them.

Inside the machines, and found some interesting revenue tax tags from back in the day, Chicago, where else...
